MICROBLADING

Microblading is a semi-permanent tattoo performed with a small handheld tool. Unlike a regular tattoo, pigment is implanted in the outermost layer of the skin creating a feather stroke technique that mimics the natural flow of hair producing the appearance of natural hair follicle.

Microblading is meant to add hair not color. Permanent makeup in general is not meant to replace makeup or look like a tattoo. It is meant to heal soft and natural like a real brow.

Coloring is based off of your natural undertones and the hair color of your natural brows.

Your brows will look amazing! The skin may be slightly red due to skin sensitivity, but the brows will look soft initially after the procedure. After an hour or so the brows will begin to darken about 30-50%. Once brows are done healing they will shrink and lighten 20-30%.

When clients come in for their initial visit, an 8-12 week initial touch up is required at an additional fee, to finalize your brows. Clients then come back for a yearly (additional touch up) every 24/36/72 months depending on how well their skin can maintain and hold the pigment. These appointments are temporary and we will review your brows 1-2 months before your scheduled date to see if you are due. If the tattoo is not kept up with or maintained clients will have to start over again to rebuild the outline and base of their brows.

With proper care and touch ups, Microblading can last 2-3 years.  However, since everyone has different body chemistry and lifestyle we can't guarantee the duration of results.

As a precaution, we will not perform any cosmetic tattooing on a person who is pregnant or nursing.

Skin sensitivities and allergies are always taken into consideration on an individual assessment.  The majority of clients with skin sensitivities or allergies are minor and eligible for tattooing, only resulting in a mild redness of the skin that subsides within an hour or two post-treatment.  Allergies to cosmetics, latex or numbing agents (such as Lidocaine & Tetracaine) should always be disclosed with us prior to your appointment.

Post Care - After your Microblading Appointment

Immediately After

Your Brows will appear to be darker & bolder in color, & more sharply defined. This will last 3-4 days. The treated area may feel a bit like a sunburn afterwards, but there should only be minimal discomfort. Swelling & redness is minimal with most clients & will disappear within 24/72 hours. Once cell renewal occurs, brows will look lighter & start to develop their true color.

What to Expect Over the Next 30 Days

DAY 1-2

  • The Eyebrows are approximately 50% darker & bolder than they will be once they are healed.  You may experience the pigment appearing orange or red, the reason why you may see a lot of red immediately after is that with the skin being open the colors are premodified to heal true to tone with no ashy undertones. They have a strong presence of warmth to ensure perfect healed results. Redness and swelling will subside.

DAY 3

  • Eyebrows might start to itch & may appear to look much thicker in texture. Scabbing/exfoliating will begin.

DAY 4-5

  • The skin’s dead cells will begin to flake & your skin will start to exfoliate itself. During this process, your tattoo will soften & lighten. Be patient, even if you think too much color/strokes have been lost, your skin is still regenerating, & processing the pigment. Some areas of the brow may appear to be completely lost, & the brows can be asymmetrical or patchy. THIS IS NORMAL.

DAY 5+

  • Wait 3 weeks to see the true color, as it seems to take on new strength. It is only after 8 - 12 weeks (the earliest) that your touch-up/adjustment can be done. Keep in mind that microbladed brows heal up to 30% softer than the initial color. Your initial visit creates a base for your practitioner, & your Microblading is not complete until your touch up appointment. Note: Some clients require multiple sessions (ADDITIONAL FEES APPLY).

THE NEXT 30 DAYS

  • Please note that final results can not be guaranteed as each unique skin type will hold pigments differently & break down at different rates. The tattooed hair strokes tend to have a more crisp look once healed on dry skin compared to more blurry strokes on oily skin. We will re-evaluate how your skin has received the pigment at your initial touch-up appointment (ADDITIONAL FEE) & make any changes necessary. Healed results will vary with each individual client, & using a pencil or powder may still be necessary. Additional sessions (charged accordingly) may be required to obtain optimal results. Especially if you have had brows done previously by another practitioner which may result in a color, & tattoo correction.

Aftercare

  • Immediately after leaving session dab dry over the next hour or so with dry gauze that’s given to blot any lymphatic fluid from oozing & drying.
  • Later tonight before bed you can take a paper towel & run it under luke warm water, squeeze all water out creating a damp cloth. You will gently blot it with damp paper towel.
  • You are going to continue the damp cloth for the next 7-14 days 2x a day morning & night. Still no wetting or sweating for the full time.
  • As your epithelial crust starts to form (which is usually around day 3-5)  you may then begin the ointment sparingly through the remainder of the week.
  • Apply a very small amount of ointment with Q tip.

AVOID:

  • DO NOT rub, pick or scratch the treated area. Allow scabbing + dry skin to naturally exfoliate off. Picking can cause scarring and pigment loss!
  • COMPLETELY AVOID direct sun exposure & tanning beds for a minimum of 4 weeks after your procedure.  Direct sunlight can cause the pigment to change color while it is healing and can also cause hyperpigmentation and scarring.
  • Avoid pool’s, saunas, steam rooms, hot steamy showers &/or hot baths for 3 weeks.
  • Avoid sweating for a full 10 days. Any physical effort, gym, hot weather, any other activity that may cause sweating through or on the brows will expel pigment from the dermis producing poor results.
  • Avoid sleeping on your face/brows for the first 10 days.  Keep your bangs & hair pulled back from your face for the first 10 days.
  • NO makeup or skincare products to be used on the treated area for two weeks.
  • NO facials, chemical treatments & microdermabrasion for 4 weeks.
  • NO Botox for 4 weeks. We recommend that it’s best to wait until after your touch up heals to get Botox, as an educated injector will take your new brows into consideration when choosing where to inject.

Maintenance

As a general rule, you should expect to book a maintenance appointment every 12-36 months. In the meantime you should:

  • Avoid Sunbathing or using sun beds.
  • Apply  sunscreen to prevent fading when exposed to the sun.
  • Avoid applying any skin care products on the eyebrow area especially ones that contain Retinol, Glycolic acid, AHA’s, & Vitamin A.
  • Avoid skin treatments such as laser treatments, microdermabrasion or chemical peels over the eyebrows.

Certain skin conditions & or excessively dry/oily skin types may fade faster than other skin types.

Once healed, eyebrows can be threaded and plucked.
