RF MICRONEEDLING

Genius’ innovative technology delivers thermal energy deep in the dermis to stimulate collagen & elastin without damaging the surrounding tissue. It creates thermal coagulation zones (dermal wounds) at variable depths to precisely target the different thicknesses of facial & body skin for customized treatments. Depending on the size & location of the area/s to be treated, this entire process can take anywhere from fifteen minutes to an hour.

 This treatment is safe for all skin types. 

During the treatment, you will feel slight pressure & heat on your skin.  A topical anesthetic is applied 60 minutes prior to the procedure to ensure patient comfort. You will notice some swelling and redness for a day or two. Depending on the aggressiveness of the treatment, the redness may last somewhat longer.  In most cases, healing occurs in 3 days to a week. Makeup may be applied after 48 hours. Results can be seen after the first treatment with maximal benefits 12 weeks out. Your skin will continue to improve for about six months after the final procedure.

Three treatments spaced at least 6 weeks apart are recommended. Maintenance treatments may be required. For preventative treatments, younger individuals wishing to prevent the signs of aging can receive a couple treatments & still reach effective results.

The Genius™ microneedling device can be combined with several different types of treatments offered at Art of Aesthetics. Once the skin has become firmer and tightened, the foundation is now ripe for fillers and or Neuromodulators if one desires.  Maintenance of a good topical skincare regimen is crucial. 

While microneedling is both very safe and very minimally invasive, there are some things you should consider before treatment. If you are or have taken Accutane, have a skin infection, have a significant skin disease like psoriasis, you’re taking anticoagulants, are pregnant, or undergoing chemotherapy, microneedling is contraindicated. The treatment is effectively a very controlled and specific stress and damage to the skin that makes it healthier in the long run. So if you have a compromised immune system, your blood doesn’t clot, or you have difficulty healing from minor, superficial skin damage, microneedling is not a good choice for you. 

Otherwise, RF Microneedling is an excellent therapy if you’re in good health and experiencing some early signs of aging! This kind of treatment is especially appealing in preparation for anticipated major events like school reunions, since it has fantastic results for most clients, but can take several months to achieve maximum results. Just make sure you protect your skin for several days after treatment with sunscreen and avoid wearing makeup for at least 24 hours after treatment to allow your skin to recover.
